The Goliad Zone Tuesday, April 7, 2026 UConn wouldn't go away, but Michigan held on tight to pick up their 2nd ever national title last night, 69-63. Both teams played tough, gritty basketball with never-quit defense and for Michigan, a pretty miraculous night at the charity stripe. At the end, 2 VST teams stood tall with Blue and Maize picks - the Mighty Goliads and Bob Svendsen's Svens. Overall, the Goliads topped Gary Wheeler's Coin Flips 88-82 for the win. Roger Ellsworth's Raiders took 3rd with 78, and 4 more back, Bernie McLaughlin's Zazoos out-tied Don Eubank's Stabs for 4th and their money back. Payments will be made later today. Congrats to the top half above-the-rim performers above as well as Mike Gann's Gannpicks, the Svens, Mike Shelton's Meatballers and Tom Daulton's Precision Knowspickers.
